New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh police has started patrolling of Yamuna Expressway ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to India to attend Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
The security of Yamuna Expressway has been beefed up following a terror attack threat “somewhere” on the route connecting Delhi and Agra.
CCTV cameras have been installed at regular intervals along the route on which Obama will travel and more security personnel have been deployed.
Obama, who will arrive in India for a three-day visit on January 25, will be visiting Taj Mahal on January 27 and is likely to travel via Yamuna Expressway.
He is slated to travel to Agra by air but may travel by the Yamuna Expressway if the air route cannot be used, according to a PTI report.
Yamuna Expressway may also remain closed for normal traffic for a few hours, as per the PTI report.
The US President is arriving here on January 25 on a three-day visit during which he will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attend the Republic Day Parade as chief guest and also visit Taj Mahal.
