No scope for any third party involvement in Indo-Pak dialogue: MEA on Hurriyat

India on Friday reiterated its stance that it was committed to resolving all issues with Pakistan through dialogue.

New Delhi: India on Friday reiterated its stance that it was committed to resolving all issues with Pakistan through dialogue.

Speaking to scribes, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said, "We are committed to resolving all issues, including the issue of Jammu and Kashmir bilaterally with Pakistan through a peaceful dialogue."

On reports that Hurriyat Conference leaders were to attend Pakistan Day function in Delhi next week, Akbaruddin told ANI, "There was never, (and) will never be any scope for involvement of any third party."

Moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is to lead a high-level delegation of the amalgam to attend the Pakistan day function.

"Mirwaiz will lead a high-level delegation to New Delhi to visit Pakistan High Commission on the invitation of Pakistan high commissioner to India on the eve of Pakistan Day on March 23," Hurriyat said in a statement.

"The Hurriyat delegation will hold a detailed deliberation with Pakistan over the resumption of dialogue with India and various other political issues connected with the Kashmir dispute," it said.

Pakistan's high commissioner Abdul Basit had met the Kashmiri separatist leaders last year in Delhi, which had riled India leading to cancellation of Foreign Secretary level talks between India and Pakistan.

On Basit's visit to Kolkata where he talked about setting up of a Pakistan Consulate, Akbaruddin said it cannot happen without the permission of the Centre and "at this stage there is nothing on the table".

Asked if India will raise with Pakistan the fidayeen attack in J&K's Kathua district, in which three security personnel were killed, he said India has been flagging its concerns over terrorism with Pakistan and will continue doing so as and when the opportunity arises.
