New Delhi: After Congress president and vice-president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were granted bail by Patiala House Court in National Herald case, senior BJP leader and lone petitioner in the case Subramanian Swamy on Saturday said that he is still confident that the mother-son duo will go to jail in 2016.

Speaking to reporters outside court, Swamy said, “I will win this case in 2016. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others will be sent to prison.”

“It is an open and shut case based on documents and not witnesses,” he further added.

Describing the scene inside the courtroom, Swamy said, “When Gandhis came they were made to stand in a corner where the accused are supposed to be and were not allowed to sit.”

Rejecting Congress' allegations that he was pursuing the case on the orders of BJP leadership, Swamy said "I have never taken appointment in his (Modi`s) office...In fact, I have never spoken to the prime minister verbally on this matter.”

Swamy also expressed satisfaction over the judgement.
