Mumbai: Former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri expressed anguish over the attack on Sudheendra Kulkarni for not bowing down to Shiv Sena's diktat.

Addressing a joint press conference with Kulkarni, Kasuri said, “I would like to express my unhappiness and sadness for what has been done to you.”

A sombre looking Kasuri added with determination that the launch of his book will go on as planned today evening even as Kulkarni – who has decided not to wipe off the black paint smeared on his face by alleged Shiv Sainiks today morning – looked on.

When asked by a reporters on what his message to Uddhav Thackeray will be, Kasuri said, “My mission is peace...his party has the right to protest but it should be within peaceful limits.”

On India, Pakistan ties, Kasuri said that it is possible to mend the relationship between the two countries.

Recalling an incident in Lahore when Pakistan youths had cheered the Indian team on its win, Kasuri said, “People are not fools we should not underestimate them...the politicians take them on the right path or instigate them.”
