Lok Sabha pays tributes to departed members

Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day after paying tributes to a sitting member and six former MPs.

New Delhi: Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Monday after paying tributes to a sitting member and six former MPs who had passed way in the inter-session period.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan read out obituary references after which members stood in silence for a few moments.

On June 1, BJP member Dalpat Singh Paraste, representing the Shior constituency, had passed away in Gurgaon.

The former members who died recently were Prabhulal Rawat, Shakeelur Rehman, Pravin Rashtrapal (sitting Rajya Sabha member and a former Lok Sabha member), K Anirudhan, Rudra Madhab Ray and Neil Aloysius O'Brien.
