The CPI-M on Friday urged the government not to reduce the upper age limit and the number of attempts by applicants for the civil services examinations.

New Delhi: The CPI-M on Friday urged the government not to reduce the upper age limit and the number of attempts by applicants for the civil services examinations.

"Such a step would adversely affect all those who are seeking to join the civil services," the Communist Party of India-Marxist said in a statement.

"The move to reduce the age eligibility and the number of attempts for SC/ST candidates is particularly objectionable," it said. "The government should not take any step in this direction."
