JNU row: What all Kanhaiya Kumar said in Patiala House court - Here's the copy of letter written by him

JNU students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar, arrested on sedition charges, was on Wednesday sent to judicial custody till March 2. Metropolitan Magistrate Lovleen gave the ruling after Delhi Police said it did not need the president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) any more for interrogation.

New Delhi: JNU students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar, arrested on sedition charges, was on Wednesday sent to judicial custody till March 2. Metropolitan Magistrate Lovleen gave the ruling after Delhi Police said it did not need the president of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) any more for interrogation.

 

Also, Kanhaiya Kumar gave a statement before the Patiala House court on the JNU incident. Here's what he said:-

- I am not anti-national

- I don't support anti-India slogans

- I am an Indian and believe in Constitution of India

 

- I don't support the February 9 event in JNU; the event was unfortunate and I condemn it 

- I don't support unconstitutional activities

- I appeal to people to maintain peace

Kanhaiya Kumar, from the CPI-affiliated All India Students Federation (AISF), was arrested on February 12 on charges of raising anti-India slogans during a meeting on Kashmir in the campus.
