New Delhi: Thousands of lawyers on Friday took out a protest march from the Patiala House Courts to India Gate.

With tricolour in their hands, the protesting lawyers walked while chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Vande Mataram'.

Some were even heard saying 'Pakistan Murdabad'.

The lawyers said they were protesting against 'anti-national' forces in the national capital, referring to 'anti-India' slogans raised in Jawaharlal Nehru University on February 09.

The march comes a day after some of them allegedly attacked Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar and a few journalists at the Patiala House Court.

The Bar Council of India has set up a probe panel to identify a group of lawyers who allegedly beat up journalists during the hearing of a sedition charge against Kanhaiya Kumar.
