New Delhi: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police force on Saturday honoured families and widows of those personnel who were killed in a tragic air crash during rescue operation in last year's Uttarakhand floods.

The border guarding force, through its wives welfare association, also made a commitment to take care of "all concerns" of the families of its slain soldiers.

The felicitation of these families was done by President of the ITBP wives welfare association Sipra Goswami, wife of force chief Subhas Goswami.

"Eight families of martyrs who were killed in a chopper crash during last year's Uttarakhand relief and rescue operations were honoured today," an ITBP spokesperson said.

The event was held during the three-day ITBP 'mela' which will close tomorrow.

ITBP, which guards the Indo-China border, lost 15 of its men in the helicopter crash near Kedarnath valley last year.
