It is PM Modi's prerogative to speak on Vyapam issue: BJP

Accusing the Congress of politicising the Vyapam issue, BJP on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's prerogative to speak on the matter.

Kolkata: Accusing the Congress of politicising the Vyapam issue, BJP on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's prerogative to speak on the matter.

"We think the Prime Minister has his own prerogative and will not speak whenever the Opposition wants him to speak. There have been recent issues in which the truth has come out later. The truth will always come out. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and other leaders have already spoken on the issue," BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Sing said.

He said an STF probe into the matter was already being monitored by an SIT set up by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

"There are a number of applications moved by our adversaries, especially Congress. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh has clearly said that let the Supreme Court and High Court decide who should conduct the investigation.

"Congress is raising a political issue and we are not here to answer its rhetoric," he said.
