Is Modi's luck responsible for unseasonal rains?, asks Digvijay Singh

Senior Congress leader and AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Saturday took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging pitiable situation of farmers during the NDA government tenure.

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Saturday took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging pitiable situation of farmers during the NDA government tenure.

Singh, who took to Twitter early today, wrote: “When there was a fall in oil prices, Modiji had said that it was his luck that is benefiting the people. Now, unseasonal rains are adversely affecting the crops of farmers. Is his luck responsible for it too?

Singh's tweet was directed at PM Modi's rally at Delhi's Dwarka area when he had sought a majority for BJP in the national capital by presenting himself as a 'lucky' person.

Further, taking swipe at NDA government's Land Bill, Singh said, “Subhash Chandra Bose had given a slogan – Give me blood and I promise you freedom. And, Modi's slogan is – Give me your land, I promise you unemployment.”

“Modi's slogan is – Give me your subsidy and I'll reduce the taxes of capitalists. Good days have come, but for whom? For a pair of swans in Gujarat?” Singh tweeted.

He also said, “Before Independence there was a war cry – Sarfaroshi ki tamana ab humare dil mein hai. And, during Modi's regime farmers are saying – Khudkhushi ki tamana ab humare dil mein hai (There is a desire in us to commit suicide).”

While drawing comparisons between UPA and NDA government, Singh said, “UPA government had forgiven Rs 72, 000 crores debt of farmers. Does PM Modi have the courage to forgive the debts of farmers?”
