Indian varsities too will figure in top 200, MoS HRD hopes

Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Ram Shankar Katheria on MOnday said Indian universities will also make it to the list of top 200 world institutions because of "qualitative education and research work" going on in the varsities.

Gorakhpur: Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Ram Shankar Katheria on MOnday said Indian universities will also make it to the list of top 200 world institutions because of "qualitative education and research work" going on in the varsities.

"Qualitative education and research works are going on in Indian universities, especially in the field of higher education, and we hope that our universities will also make it to the list of top 200 universities in the world", Katheria said here.

He also said that there are chances that the task of declaring Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University a central university might be taken up during its centenary celebrations next year.

Talking of Gorakhpur, he said that development work has started here under the guidance of local MP Yogi Adityanath with the reopening the closed fertilizer unit.
