Gorakhpur: There is no end to the ongoing poster war between Congress and the BJP, with both main parties focussing on the crucial assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh next year.
Some posters put by the minority wing of BJP in Gorakhpur district shows local MP Yogi Adityanath riding a tiger and opposition leaders like Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati, Asaduddin Owaisi and Rahul Gandhi riding donkeys.
'Abki bar Yogi Sarkar' is written on the top of the poster. This comes after a controversial Congress poster showing Rahul Gandhi as 'Singham'.
Irfan Ahmad, the state executive member of BJP minority wing said, "We want to see Yogi Adityanath as CM and we are sure BJP will rock in the 2017 polls."
Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party president, Mohsin Khan stated that the party believes in non-violence and only violent people ride a tiger.
Also, the state president of AIMIM, Sameer Siddiqui said, "We will stage a demonstration against the poster. BJP wants to arouse communal feelings, which is condemnable."
A BSP leader, Brijesh Kumar mentioned that the poster is exposing the actual face of BJP and it is condemnable.
Anwar Hussain, a Congress functionary on the released poster of BJP said, "It shows the mental state of BJP. A saint can't ride a lion. Those opposed to minorities are now taking their support."
