New Delhi: India Air Force has said their radar intercepted a balloon-shaped object at around 10.30 and 11 o'clock on Tuesday morning. And soon an IAF fighter jet was scrambled to neutralise it.

IAF said the object was destroyed by the jet and the explosion reported by locals in the Gugdi area of Barmer district could be the result of it.

Earlier there were media reports that five bombs accidently fell from a fighter jet resulting in an explosion here.

So far no no casualty have been reported in the whole episode. Meanwhile, Indian Air Force has dispatched a team to the spot to investigate the incident.

Following several inputs about terror threats on Republic Day, IAF and other security agencies are on high alert.  (Details awaited)
