New Delhi: Captured Pakistani terrorist is making explosive claims during interrogation by security officials. As per those interrogating him, Naved alias Usman is dodging questions and changing his statements frequently.

How he crossed over into India
During the initial hours of questioning, Naved said he infiltrated into the Indian territory from Poonch-Rajouri border. However, he later said that he crossed the LoC from Kupwara in Kashmir Valley only to later claim that he crossed over from Tanmarg area in Baramulla district.
Number of terrorists
Naved first claimed that he had crossed over with his slain accomplice Mohammaed Noman but later he disclosed that he was among a group four armed Lashkar-e-Toiba militants who crossed over from Tanmarg border by cutting fences.
He also said that they had chosen the location carefully as the Indian Army was stationed far way from the place where they had crossed over.
According to Naved, he and his companions had infiltrated two months before Eid. However, intelligence agencies suspect that four militants may have crossed from Pakistan either in the last week of May or in the first week of June.
The training
Naved, who hails from Faislabad in Pakistan, said that he and his associates had undergone 21 days of basic combat training and three months advance combat training in Muridkee and Muzaffarabad
The route into India
Naved told the interrogators that all of them reached Baba Rishi area in Baramulla from Tanmarg and stayed for two days, where one of Lashkar's top commander code named Humza met them and briefed about possible locations in Jammu where they can launch an attack.
They then first shifted to Awantipora and later on to Pulwama. The group managed to hide in Kashmir for two months as they got logistic support from local sympathisers.
The plan
According to Naved, the group split into two and he along with Noman moved to Kulgam in South Kashmir and later to Khudwani in Anantnag district.
Notably, the particular village is just 3 Kms from Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and the area was very notorious for terror activities in the past.
Travel to Udhampur
Naved informed the officials that one of the top commanders of Lashkar-e-Toiba met both of them in Khudwani on August 03 and briefed them about their mission – attack on Amarnath Yatra pilgrims or a BSF convoy.
That night, the Pakistani terrorists were told that they will travel on a truck to Udhampur the next day to launch an attack either on a BSF convoy or Amarnath pilgrims.
As per Naved, the truck driver dropped them near Narsoo, close to Samlooli, in Udhampur district.
The attack
Naved said that he along with Noman lay in wait near the highway to launch an attack. He said that an Army and a CRPF convoy passed by but they did not attack them. Soon, a BSF convoy came in sight and as soon as it was within range, the two started firing at the the vehicles. Naved further said that they had planned to keep BSF troopers hostage, but they failed in the mission.
