Bareilly: In yet another example of police brutality and high-handedness, a madrassa teacher was thrashed by a drunk UP cop. Not only this, the cop also called the cleric a 'terrorist' as he was unable to show his identity card to prove his 'nationality'.

According to a report in TOI, a drunk constable travelling on the Nainital Express from Pilibhit to Moradabad first started misbehaving with Rizwan Ahmad, a cleric.

When the cleric protested, the drunk cop asked him to show his identity card. As he was unable to show his identity card to prove his 'nationality', this irked the cop, who allegedly started calling him 'terrorist'.

The cop also said that the cleric should be put in jail.

Later, the cop started assaulting him and threw him out of compartment at Izzat Nagar station near Bareilly.

Superintendent of police for Railways Vaibhav Krishna has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
