Mumbai: A Muslim man on Thursday, in a unique manner, warmed hearts at the financial capital of India while tensions prevail in the city after the hanging of 1993 bomb blasts convict Yakub Memon.
Mazim Milla stood blindfolded at Mumbai's crowded Chowpatty yesterday afternoon with a signboard that read, "I'm Muslim and I trust you, Do you trust me enough for a hug?"
The above was confirmed by Mid Day Editor, Sachin Kalbag, who tweeted the pictures this morning, showing some Mumbaikars hugging Milla and other by-standers.

While many people kept standing around and took photos of the man, some also came forward to talk to him and hug him, the newspaper reported.
Nevertheless, this Muslim man's experiment – apparently inspired by a similar experiment first done by a Muslim in Canada earlier this year – seems to have worked.
In February this year, Mustafa Mawla stood blindfolded at a street in Toronto with a sign that read: "I am a Muslim. I am labelled as a terrorist. I trust you. Do you trust me? Give me a hug."
The experiment was part of the 'Blind Trust Project' to eliminate religious misconceptions and Islamophobia.
