Mumbai: Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's close associate Chhota Shakeel has rubbished all rumours which say that the 1993 Mumbai blast mastermind is upset as his D company's empire is in danger due to close monitoring by intelligence agencies.

In a telephonic conversation with India Today, Shakeel said that his boss Dawood is not affected by such rumours.

“We are doing are business and not affected by such things. Our business is going strong and your information is wrong,” said Shakeel.

When asked if there will be grand celebrations on his 60th birth anniversary, he said, “It won't be an extravagent affair. Indeed a simple and sombre one.”

Talking about Dawood's religious orientations, he further revealed that the don reads five times Namaz, keeps Roza and goes to Hajj.

Rumours were doing the rounds that Dawood will today bid adieu to the underworld and appoint his closest confidante Chhota Shakeel as his successor to head the D-company.

However, some media reports indicate that the mafia kingpin will hand over the reins of the organised crime syndicate to his younger brother Anees Ibrahim and Shakeel.

Dawood is believed to be currently residing on the Clifton Road in Karachi.
