New Delhi: Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D. Raja on Sunday expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address the problems of unskilled labourers and ordinary workers living in United Arab Amirates (UAE) during his official visit to the gulf nation.

"Let us see what is going to be the outcome of Prime Minister`s visit to UAE because there is some kind of road show for Modi. There would be big gathering of Indians in cricket stadium in Dubai and it is expected to be a big show for Mr. Modi, as usual whenever he visits a foreign country. The BJP and its outfits do take special efforts to organise such gatherings," Raja told ANI.

"80 percent of Indian force in UAE is from unskilled labourers and ordinary workers. And they have lot of problems facing there in UAE. How our Prime Minister will address their concerns, their problems, taking up them at the highest level when he interacts with other representatives from the government of UAE. So, that`s why we have to wait for the outcome what exactly the Prime Minister`s visit will achieve," he added.

Prime Minister Modi would begin his two-day visit to UAE this afternoon. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 34 years to a gulf nation.

Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with the leadership of world`s second largest Arab economy on terrorism.

The Prime Minister will seek to boost the economic, cultural and social ties between India and UAE. India would also seek to enhance cooperation in energy sector during this visit.

He is also expected to meet and interact with the Indian diaspora. The Prime Minister will reach Abu Dhabi today and go to Dubai on Monday.
