Court seeks UPPRPB's response on alleged corruption in SI recruitments

 Allahabad High Court has sought Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board's response within a week on a writ petition, alleging widespread corruption in Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment exam conducted by the board.

Lucknow: Allahabad High Court has sought Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board's response within a week on a writ petition, alleging widespread corruption in Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment exam conducted by the board.

The Lucknow bench of the court asked the chairman of the board to respond on a writ petition filed by five applicants.

Justice Devendra Kumar Arora passed the order on Friday.

According to petitioner's counsel Nutan Thakur, a direction was sought for cancelling the whole examination process and result of it, as it has alleged various irregularities. Selection from a few selective districts has also been alleged.

The court directed the Board chairman V K Gupta to examine alleged anomalies and to file his personal affidavit with in a week. It further directed that while doing so, he will also indicate as to what steps he has taken for holding transparent and fair examination.

The court directed to list this matter after one week before the appropriate Bench along with other similar matters.
