Chinese incursions have come down, India-China relations have strengthened despite differences: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that despite differences with Beijing, relations between India and China have strengthened adding that Chinese incursions have also come down under NDA regime.

Rajnath was speaking at a PIB event in Chandigarh, when he said, "Chinese incursions have come during our rule. In recent times, the Indo-China relations have strengthened in spite of differences between two nations; however, Pakistan is still obsessed with certain issues."

Taking a dig at Pakistan for sponsoring terror-related activities against India and nurturing terrorists for political gain, Rajnath said, "If Pakistan is serious about fighting terror, our government is ready to help them eradicate terror. However, their intention is not that. Pakistan has isolated itself completely among the global community by adopting terrorism as its state policy."

The Home Minister also lauded the Indian Army for carrying out surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) against terrorist launch pads.

"Our troops crossed Line of Control and conducted surgical strikes as a pre-emptive measure. We have increased the pace of Border Area Development program and have also increased deployment of security forces in Left Wing Extremism areas. The attitude of lethargy is over and the country is now feeling proud," he said.

"India is one of the top 10 economies and the fastest growing economy in the world. If this trend continues. India will be among top three economies of the world," he said.

Reiterating Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's statement that there are certain forces in the world that do not want India to see progress, Rajnath remarked, "India's development depends on its core strength and competence but certain forces do not want to see India progressing."

"Cyber terrorism and radicalisation are also major issues and we working towards eradicating them," he concluded as saying.
