New Delhi: India's premier education board, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the results of the Class 12th examinations on Monday afternoon.

The results, which were made available on the CBSE's official website – cbseresults.nic.in – saw a total of 82 percent students clear the exams.

In 2014, overall pass percentage was 82.70.

As per reports, the girls were ahead of boys in the overall pass percentage.

While a total of 87.57 percent girls cleared the CBSE Class 12th Board Exams 2015, 77.77 percent of the boys could manage to pass the exams.

Overall, Thiruvanathampuram region recorded the highest pass percentage of 95.41.

M Gayatri from the New Greenfield Public School located in south Delhi's Saket topped with 496 marks out of a total 500.

The total number of candidates who took the CBSE Class 12 examinations this year was 1,040,368, marking an increase of about 1.2 percent over that of last year.
