Bangladesh president, PM wish Pranab's wife early recovery

Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday called President Pranab Mukherjee to inquire about the health of his wife Suvra Mukherjee, who has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi.

"The president enquired about the Indian president's wife Suvra Mukherjee's treatment and wished her recovery from illness," Hamid's press secretary Md. Joynal Abedin told bdnews24.com.

Suvra Mukherjee's ancestral home is in Bangladesh's Narhail district. She has been suffering from respiratory problems and was hospitalised on August 7.

Sheikh Hasina also called Mukherjee and enquired about the condition of his wife, her press secretary Ihsanul Karim said.

She wished Suvra Mukherjee early recovery, he said.
