Srinagar: A day after Pakistan warned India against any 'adventurism' on its side of the border, its troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday.

As per reports, Pakistani troops opened fire on a patrol party of the Indian Army along the LoC at Sawjian sector in Poonch.

Indian troops are reported to have retaliated in equal measure.

The firing started at 9.15 am this morning, ANI reported.

Pakistani troops resorted to intermittent fire using small arms and automatic weapons, reports said.

No casualties or damage have been reported in the ceasefire violation. However, one TV channel claimed that one Army soldier has sustained minor injuries.

The ceasefire violation came just two days after India conducted a surgical operation in Myanmar against Northeast militants and described the strikes as a message for other neighbours who allow their territories to be used against India.
