If I am asked to be CM, I will accept it, says Manjhi

Patna: Ahead of the crucial Bihar verdict on Sunday, former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said that if he is asked to be the CM, he would accept it and “not back off".

"I have no wish as such but if a situation arises where I am asked to be the CM, then I will accept it and not back off," Manjhi, whose Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) is part of the BJP-led NDA, told reporters.

Manjhi had stepped down as Bihar Chief Minister in February this year.

In the recent polls, BJP fought on 158 seats and gave 41 to Ram Vilas Paswan's LJP, 23 to Upendra Kushwaha's RLSP and 21 to Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM.

The five-phase polls in Bihar recorded a 56.80 percent voter turnout, the highest in assembly election in the state's history.
