Sonia asks HP govt to provide assistance to landslide victims

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday asked Himachal Pradesh government to provide all possible assistance in the wake of collapse of a building adjoining Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib in Himachal Pradesh following a massive landslide.

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday asked Himachal Pradesh government to provide all possible assistance in the wake of collapse of a building adjoining Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib in Himachal Pradesh following a massive landslide.

Offering her deepest condolences to the bereaved families, Gandhi hoped that immediate and adequate relief was being provided to those affected.

Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi tweeted: "Extremely sad to hear about the landslide in Manikaran in which many people lost their lives. My prayers for the families who lost loved ones".

Eight?persons were killed and ten others injured when a building adjoining the Gurdwara caved in due to a massive landslide this afternoon.
