Swine flu has claimed 31 lives in the past one month even as 35 persons tested positive for the H1N1 virus, the Telangana government said Monday.

Hyderabad: Swine flu has claimed 31 lives in the past one month even as 35 persons tested positive for the H1N1 virus, the Telangana government said Monday.

From January 1 to February 1, 1,854 samples were tested, of which 629 samples were found to be positive. The number of deaths due to swine flu and other complications is 31, an official release said.

As many as 35 samples of the total 118 samples tested yesterday were found to be positive, it said.

The government, however, said the number of positive cases reported in the last six days till yesterday is showing a declining trend.

"Enough stock of medicine is available at all teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals", the statement said.
