Chandigarh: Yoga guru Ramdev will be conducting a two-day yoga training camp at Panchkula from Monday in which Haryana legislators cutting across parties have been invited.

Ramdev arrived here this evening after holding a preparatory session with his followers at Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium in New Delhi ahead of the first International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21.

To take stock of the preparations ahead of tomorrow's event at Panchkula and events scheduled for June 21, a meeting was held here today in which Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, most of his ministers, besides BJP leaders Anil Jain, Ram Lal and state BJP chief Subhash Barala, among others took part.

"Before the state-level function at Karnal, Baba Ramdev is conducting this two-day yoga training programme at Tau Devi Lal stadium at Panchkula. For this, we have invited all the (90) MLAs from the state, senior IAS officers posted at Chandigarh, High Court judges, lawyers and even the journalists, besides others," Haryana's Health Minister Anil Vij said.

Ramdev had been appointed as brand ambassador for promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda by the BJP Government in the state.

A state-level function is also being organised on the occasion of International Yoga Day in Karnal for which CM Khattar would be the chief guest and about 21,000 yoga trainees would participate in it.

Vij said the preparations and training for the function are being supervised by Patanjali Yogpeeth.

It would be free and anyone could participate, he said.

"We will also have functions in various districts on June 21 and 2,100 yoga trainees will take part from each district," he said.
