No fresh swine flu cases reported in Mizoram for weeks

Swine flu in Mizoram has dwindled considerably with no fresh cases reported for weeks, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) Nodal Officer Dr Pachauau Lalmalsawma said on Monday.

Aizawl: Swine flu in Mizoram has dwindled considerably with no fresh cases reported for weeks, Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) Nodal Officer Dr Pachauau Lalmalsawma said on Monday.

Lalmalsawma said that of 17 samples sent to the Indian Council of Medical Research's National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Disease in Kolkata, four were found to be positive - two persons from Mizoram and another two from outside the state.

All the four H1N1 patients were completely cured, he said, adding that the state government would continue strict vigil as long as the disease remains in the country and neighbouring countries.
