Hookah Bars banned in Gurgaon

Gurgaon: The Gurgaon District Magistrate Thursday banned Hookah (hubble bubble) Bars in the district, an official said.

"Hookah Bars are serving tobacco molasses containing nicotine which is injurious to the health of the people, especially college students and youth. The people, especially young generations were being spoilt by these illegally running Hookah Bars," District Magistrate (DM) P.C. Meena said.

"Taking the health hazards of tobacco and nicotine into account, the operations of Hookah Bars have been prohibited in the entire district with immediate effect," Meena added.

The prohibition was ordered under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
