New Delhi: The parents of 12 year old Arian Chowdhury, who suffers from a rare genetic disease called Hunter Syndrome, met Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in New Delhi on Friday.
When Arian was 5 years old he was first diagnosed with the disease.
The disease has no cure and affects one person in 150,000 worldwide.
A positive step has been taken by the Health Minister to save the life of Arian by referring his case to the All India institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Having a word with the AIIMS director MC Mishra, the Health Minister asked him to form a panel to study the case of Arian. The panel consists of pediatricians and other experts.
Arian's parents were assured by the Health Minister that all possible help will be extended to them.
But subsidy on medicines to treat this rare genetic disorder was not committed.
