As part of promoting awareness across the city on organ donation, the healthcare panel of CII, Coimbatore Zone has put up hoardings, posters, standees, circulating brochures in Engligh and Tamil and advertisements, Dr Raja Sabapathy, convenor of the panel, told reporters here today.

Stating that about five lakh people die each year, who can potentially be saved if they could get a donor organ, he said one donor can give life to a minimum of eight people.

The campaign has many phases throughout the course of the year addressing industries, institutions, associations and public at large, he said.
