Chandigarh: All children in the age group of six to 19 years will be given free de-worming tablets in Haryana on Tuesday, Health Minister Anil Vij said Monday.

"Under the 'Rashtriya Krimi Mukti Karyakram' all children in the age group of 6-19 years will be administered free de-worming tablets on February 10," a statement quoting Vij said here .

Under the programme, students of all anganwadi centres of the state, government schools, and government recognised schools would be given 'Albendazole' tablets, it said.

Those students, who will not be able to take this medicine on that day due to some reason, would get the same on February 13, the minister said, adding that this medicine will not be given to sick children.

According to him, those children who are not enrolled in any anganwadi centre or school could contact their nearby anganwadi centres to get the medicine.

'National De-worming Day' will be observed Tuesday as announced by Union Health Minister J P Nadda today.
