One more person died of swine flu in Chhattisgarh Tuesday, taking the toll due to H1N1 virus infection in the state this year to two.

Raipur: One more person died of swine flu in Chhattisgarh Tuesday, taking the toll due to H1N1 virus infection in the state this year to two.

A 54-year-old man died today in Bilaspur district while undergoing treatment at a hospital, deputy director of Integrated Disease Surveillance Project Dr S M Murty said.

First swine flu death was reported last week.

As many as 42 samples of suspected swine flu patients were sent today to?the National Centre for Disease Control, Delhi, for tests, taking the total number since January 1 to 161.

Reports had been received in 83 cases and 22 were found to be H1N1 positive, Dr Murty said.

Health department has issued an advisory to all the government hospitals and medical college to take preventive measures and make arrangements for treatment.

Isolation wards have been established at Dr B R Ambedkar Hospital and Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur. Arrangements for treatment have also been made at district hospitals.

Dr Murty assured that enough stocks of Tamiflu tablets were available at hospitals.
