New Delhi: Prasar Bharti on Monday is likely to take a final call on whether a probe is required on the row surrounding the interview of Bharatiya Janata Party`s (BJP) prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, by Doordarshan.

The controversy started after some portions of Modi`s interview was edited including his comments on Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and close proximity with senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel.
However, the edited portions later became public through social media.

Despite questions being raised regarding the `impartiality` of the public broadcaster, DD news maintained that "there was no deliberate editing or omission of any portion of the interview".

"Wherever editing was done was for technical reasons and during post production. There was no interference or control from any authority in the entire process," it had said in a statement.
The Gujarat Chief Minister`s interview took place on April 26 in Gandhinagar and was telecast the next day.

Prasar Bharati supervises the functioning of Doordarshan and All India Radio.
