Modi, Advani, Sushma, Jaitley to take on Rahul Gandhi in Amethi

The 2014 General Elections have led to some of the fiercest campaigning ever witnessed, and, if reports are to be believed, the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Narendra Modi is all set to blow the lid off conventional limits that the political parties adhere to during election canvassing.

Lucknow: The 2014 General Elections have led to some of the fiercest campaigning ever witnessed, and, if reports are to be believed, the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Narendra Modi is all set to blow the lid off conventional limits that the political parties adhere to during election canvassing.

The BJP has decided to go all guns blazing against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and is leaving no stone unturned to defeat the Gandhi family scion.
BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who in his election rallies has repeatedly targeted the `Shehzaada`, will hit the election campaign in Amethi on May 5.

Besides Modi, senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj will campaign for party colleague Smriti Rani, who is contesting against Rahul from the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.
Not only Sushma, BJP leader Arun Jaitley will also be campaigning for the favourite television "bahu" in the Gandhi stronghold.

Party patriarch LK Advani, who was initially opposed to Modi`s nomination as BJP`s PM candidate may also take on the Gandhi scion in his home-turf.

Till date the political parties had not only maintained a decorum of not fielding strong candidates against the star leaders, but also refrained from campaigning against each other in the high profile constituencies, but the Elections 2014 seems to be breaking that thin line.

The BJP`s moves are a clear indication of the BJP`s attempt to diminish the Congress by directly attacking Rahul, who is pipped to be the next prime minister if at all the UPA manges to form the government.

Recently, the Gandhi clan, including Sonia and Priyanka have both launched a tirade against Modi, who has also hit back hard by taking them over Rober Vadra`s alleged dubious deals.

Whatever be the poll results, but the 2014 Lok Sabha elections have really raised the temperatures across the country.

Two-time MP from Amethi, Rahul Gandhi is locked in a triangular contest from the family pocket borough with Smriti Irani and Kumar Vishwas of Aam Aadmi Party pitted against him. Though the Congress vice-president had won the seat in 2004 and 2009 elections with huge margins, Congress had lost in three of the five assembly segments falling under Amethi parliamentary seat during the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2012.
