Kerala government to clear pending files

The Kerala government has decided to clear within 100 days all files pending in the state secretariat for more than three years.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to clear within 100 days all files pending in the state secretariat for more than three years.

The decision was taken at the weekly cabinet meeting here, Culture Minister K.C. Joseph told reporters.

"There are more than three lakh files that are pending in the state secretariat. We have decided to see that all files which are more than three years old are cleared in less than 100 days time," said Joseph.

The state secretariat is the seat of the Kerala government and red tapism has been the scourge of the daily administration here.
"A special committee under the chief secretary will be formed to see that the files are cleared in a time bound and systematic manner," added Joseph.
This initiative is going to be one of the many programmes that the Oommen Chandy government is getting ready to announce on the eve of his government celebrating three years in office next month.
