Residents of the national capital today woke up to hot and humid conditions with the minimum temperature recorded at 30.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above season's average.

New Delhi: Residents of the national capital today woke up to hot and humid conditions with the minimum temperature recorded at 30.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above season's average.

The weather office forecast holds out hope of a little respite in the form of light rain or thunderstorm in some areas later in the day.

"The maximum temperature is expected to be around 38 degrees Celsius. Humidity was 51 per cent at 8.30 AM," a MeT official said.

Yesterday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 26 degrees Celsius.
