New Delhi: In a breather for the B Tech students enrolled in courses last year, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has permitted the Delhi University to continue with the course that the students enrolled for in 2013.
Several B Tech and BMS students protested outside the residence of Human Resource Develeopment (HRD) minister Smriti Irani on Sunday.
Under pressure from UGC to act on its directive, DU has scrapped its four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP) and reverted to the previous 3-year structure.
The DU had earlier decided to discontinue its B Tech and Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS) courses and would not hold any fresh admissions to them.
Some students also sat on hunger strike outside the Irani`s residence and said they will not budge till their demands were met.
