New Delhi: As the national capital continues to reel under long hours of power outages, the Congress led by its Delhi unit chief Arvinder Singh Lovely held a protest on Tuesday against the Centre for not taking any step in this regard.
The Congress workers broke empty earthen pots and raised slogans against the frequent power outages and water scarcity in Delhi.
While demanding immediate intervention by the Centre in the matter, Lovely said that the NDA government had taken Delhi two generations back when there used to be lots of power cuts. He also took jibe at the BJP`s Lok Sabha polls campaign slogan `Ache Din Aaney Wale Hain`.
“They have taken Delhi two generations back. Agar yahi ache din hain to bhagwan bachaye aise dino se (If this is what is called good days then God save us from it),” said Lovely.
The former Delhi`s education minister also made comparisons between Congress rule and NDA rule.
“If there wasn`t any work done during Congress` rule in Delhi then how come there weren`t any power cuts?," said Lovely.
He had earlier said that as Delhi was under President’s rule it was the BJP-led NDA government’s responsibility to address the difficulties being faced by the people because of frequent outages and water crisis.
