New Delhi: Minutes after Delhi Police sources said on Monday that absconding Somnath Bharti - wanted in a domestic violence and attempt to murder case filed against him by his wife - could surrender by midnight, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA tweeted 'this too shall pass'.
Hours after the Supreme Court rejected Bharti's anticipatory bail plea and asked him to surrender before the court today itself, news agency ANI quoted Delhi Police sources as saying: “Somnath Bharti can come before midnight, as court order says 'he is directed to surrender before today evening.”
Bharti then took to Twitter to convey that truth will soon come out.
This too shall pass and truth shall prevail.

Meanwhile, former Delhi law minister Somnath Bharti's lawyer requested Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to issue directions to Delhi Police to refrain from describing his client as "absconder", "professional criminal", and "hardened criminal".
The requests were made in a letter written to Kejriwal. However, the Delhi government has denied having received any letter from Bharti's lawyer.
According to the letter, Bharti's lawyer Deepak Khosla sought an appointment with the standing counsel and head of the Prosecution Department to discuss Bharti's matter.
In the letter, as per IANS, Bharti's lawyer wrote: "As regards comments of officers of Delhi Police to the media, you are requested to issue appropriate directions, directing your police officers to refrain from describing my client and/or referring to him as an 'absconder', 'professional criminal', 'hardened criminal'."
“Just because he was not appearing before Delhi Police officials does not mean that he is an 'absconder',” the letter added.
Earlier in the day, soon after Somnath Bharti failed to get relief from the Supreme Court, AAP cornered its Malviya Nagar MLA asking him to surrender "immediately" to avoid "further embarassment" to the party and himself.
Bharti's wife Lipika Mitra had filed a complaint of domestic violence with Delhi Commission for Women on June 10 alleging that her husband had been abusing her since their marriage in 2010. She had also given a complaint to the police in this regard.
