New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said Sandeep Kumar, sacked on Wednesday over an alleged sex tape, betrayed the Aam Aadmi Party movement and sacrifices made by all those who had quit their jobs to be a part of it.
Kejriwal said he was "very pained" by what Delhi minister Sandeep Kumar, who held Social Development and Women and Child Development portfolios, had done, leading to his sacking on grounds of morality.
"Sandeep Kumar has betrayed the entire movement. AAP is the sole hope of the entire country. He had betrayed their hope," Kejriwal said.
Releasing a video message, Kejriwal defended his party's decision to give a ticket to Kumar to contest the Assembly Elections, saying even a father can't foretell what his son would become.
The Aam Aadmi Party leader further hit out at the BJP and Congress leaders for “saving” the leaders allegedly named in scams.
"We never try to cover up wrongdoings when evidence comes up against our ministers or party workers, unlike other parties, " says Kejriwal.

Earlier in the day, Kumar told the media that he was being targetted as he was a Dalit and alleged there was a "conspiracy" behind the alleged sex tape to frame him.
Kumar was sacked from his post on Wednesday by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal saying he had received an "objectionable" CD on him and there cannot be any compromise with propriety in public life.
Kumar is the third minister who has been removed or forced out of the cabinet by Kejriwal since the formation of the government in February 2015.
