New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday visited Delhi Police headquarters and interacted with the senior officials.

During the visit, the Union Home Minister held discussions about the law and order situation in the national capital.

Rajnath Singh also assured Delhi Police of providing all possible help to modernise the force.

"I discussed with the senior police officials about how can we modernise Delhi Police to tackle the law and order problems in the national capital," Rajnath Singh told reporters after a meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi.

The Home Minister said the Centre would provide all help to Delhi Police in its "modernisation programme".
Unlike the other states, police in Delhi - which is a Union Territory - work under the administrative jurisdiction of the central government.

This was Rajnath Singh`s first official interaction with the senior Delhi Police officials ever since he became the Union Minister.
