New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday once again accused the BJP and Modi government of not letting the Delhi government function independently.

Addressing a gathering in Delhi's Burari, Kejriwal said that the BJP is seeking vengeance for its defeat in Delhi elections and so targeting AAP MLAs every month.

“We are working 24 hours, but BJP is seeking vengeance. Every month they take away one of our MLAs. The entire Delhi Police has been deployed to arrest our MLAs. The police have no time to safeguard women in the city,” he said.

He also mockingly said that all 67 party MLAs of AAP are ready to work from Tihar jail, in an apparent reference to the arrest of three lawmakers in various cases.

Claiming that the Delhi government is working to lower down corruption rate, Kejriwal said, “When I became CM for the first time for 49 days, we reduced corruption. Even now we have got successful in curbing down corruption. But, Modi government is not letting us work. I request PM Modi to either let us work or take complete charge of Anti Corruption Branch and do something. On June 8, Modiji had sent paramilitary force and seized ACB.”

He further added that it is for the first time in 65 years that a government has done so much work in six months.

Kejriwal, under a Delhi government hospital project, has increased the number of beds from 200 to 800 in Burari hospital.
