Donations in private schools need to be monitored: Manish Sisodia

In his first press briefing after being sworn as Delhi`s Education Minister Manish Sisodia took on rampant scourge of donations in private schools saying practice shall be close monitored.

New Delhi: In his first press briefing after being sworn as capital`s Education Minister Manish Sisodia took on the rampant scourge of donations in private schools saying the practice shall be close monitored.
Addressing the issue, Sisodia said he feels education has turned into a money-minting business for private schools, and added, "Donations need to be monitored. Private schools should understand that education isn`t about making profit but helping the country grow."
Reiterating Aam Aadmi Party`s pledge to strengthen local bodies of governance, he said, "Local bodies me hume swaraj lana hai, government model decentralised tareeke se chalana hai (we have to empower local bodies and run the government in a decentralised manner)."
