New Delhi: The Delhi government will launch a mobile application to track and rescue homeless people in the National Capital.

An official said the user could initiate a rescue operation over the phone by taking a picture and posting it on the App, following which the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) server would automatically lead to the location of the person and the nearest rescue team would be informed.

"The App users will also have access to a list of shelters and one can inform the nearest shelter also about the homeless person`s location," said the official, adding that after rescue, the user would be sent an update on phone and email.
