New Delhi: As the helpline started by the AAP government to tackle graft got about 4,500 calls on Thursday, officials of the Chief Minister office said that on an average they were also getting around 3,000 written complaints since Arvind Kejriwal took over the reins of the state.
Eight to ten officials have already been assigned the job of segregating the complaints into various categories and send them to the concerned departments, sources said.
According to the officials, never ever such a "huge and tremendous response" has been received by the Chief Minister`s Office.
"It only shows the expectations of the people from the new Chief Minister. Even when Sheila Dikshit had taken over as the CM, we had not received such a response from the public," said an official who has been working in the Secretariat for long.
However, with Kejriwal announcing today that the entire Cabinet will every Saturday sit in front of the Delhi Secretariat to receive complaints and try to solve them immediately, the officials said, "If this is the scenario now, what will happen then!"
Kejriwal today said that public grievance is a major issue. "It is a major issue for any government. It is the duty of every government to resolve those grievances," he said.
