New Delhi: A case has been lodged against the chairman and head of a department of a college affiliated to Indraprastha University here on a Delhi court`s order for allegedly cheating a woman by giving her false job assurance in the institute for their "ulterior motives".

Additional Sessions Judge Deepak Garg directed the SHO of Shahbad Dairy police station in Outer Delhi to register an FIR against GGSIP University`s Delhi Institute of Rural Development (DIRD) College`s Chairman Rafi Lal and Head of Department of BCA, Rajawadh and other unknown officials.

"In my view these allegations are serious in nature and prima facie show commission of cognisable offences, which require that police investigation must be conducted because it cannot be said that all the evidence is within her (woman`s) control and she could prove the same in the court by summoning the witnesses," the judge said.

Following the court`s order, an FIR has been registered at Shahbad Dairy Police Station under sections 405 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery) and 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) of the IPC.
The court passed the order allowing the revision petition of Bara Hindu Rao resident Uzma Saeed.
Saeed had alleged that in February 2012, after coming to know about hiring being carried out at DIRD college in Holambi Kalan campus here, she had applied for the post of lecturer for which interviews were held at a hotel by Rafi Lal, Rajawadh and some other officials.

The petition, filed through her advocate Aditya Agarwal, said she had later received a phone call from the college saying that she had been selected.

The woman then appeared before Rafi Lal where he himself gave her an appointment letter. In June 2012, she was called by Rajawadh to join her duties and was presented as a college staff to inspecting authorities, the plea alleged.

But after that there was no communication between the authorities and her, it said, adding that whenever she tried to contact them, they made false assurance to her but did not call her for job.
