New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s silence over the Lalit Modi-Vasundhara Raje row, asking why he had not addressed the people of the country over the issue till now.

"I think this entire episode makes Vasundhara Raje`s position as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan completely untenable. This warrants her resignation. And the big question is, why is the Prime Minister silent?" AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha told a news agency.

"He is tweeting away and wishing the people of people of Madagascar and the people of Mozambique on their Independence Day. He is wishing the Statehood Day to the people of Croatia. But he finds no time to address the people of India?" he added.

The opposition parties have been mounting pressure on the BJP to sack Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje from her post.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), however, has said that there is no concrete evidence of corruption against her.

Rajasthan BJP president Ashok Parnami had yesterday said that Raje`s shares in the Niyant Heritage Hotels were birthday gifts from her son and daughter-in-law.Raje, meanwhile, arrived in New Delhi to attend the NITI Aayog meet today.
