AAP brand of politics lacks both democracy and public service: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said the brand of politics practiced by the Arvind Kejriwal led-Aam Aadmi Party lacked both democracy and a spirit of service towards the general public.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said the brand of politics practiced by the Arvind Kejriwal led-Aam Aadmi Party lacked both democracy and a spirit of service towards the general public.

"Democracy and service towards mankind, hardly has any position in the Aam Aadmi Party. Whom the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) keeps and removes is completely the internal matter of the Aam Aadmi Party. But having said this, the people of the country have also seen in the recent few days that what kind of politics is going on within the Aam Aadmi Party," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI.

"People who projected themselves as pillars of the party have been removed in a very undemocratic manner. This only shows that with the Aam Aadmi Party, it is a game for power, it is a tussle for position," he added.

In recent days the AAP has removed Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from the National Executive, and prevented Admiral (retired) L. Ramdas from performing his role as the party's internal Lokpal. Bhushan has also been removed from the AAP's National Disciplinary Committee.

The party has appointed a new five-member Lokpal panel, comprising of N. Dilip Kumar, Rakesh Sinha, S.P. Verma, Ashish Khetan and national secretary Pankaj Gupta.
